Irma Remains a Powerful CAT 5 Hurricane With Winds of 180 mph. Florida Still Within Center of 3-Day Forecast Cone With The Projected Path of The Hurricane Remaining More Towards The East. Additional Mandatory Evacuations Issued For The Majority of South Florida.
FMIT Irma Pre-Landfall Webinar Scheduled for 4:00PM Eastern This Afternoon. Use Link Below To Join.

FMIT Discussion:

  • FMIT is projecting potentially catastrophic condition in the Keys, Southeast/South Central Florida and up the East Coast and Central Florida. This is not a Matthew-type event due to the size and projected intensity and current path of the storm. While we hope models are off and the storm will move further to the east, we cannot plan for this to occur.
  • FMIT is initiating their CAT Response Procedures in Orlando. The EOC in Orlando will be staffed throughout the event and can be contacted through the FMIT CAT number above or by emailing irma@flcities.com.
  • FMIT EOC will be the communication point for Members to report damages & contact FMIT so we can handle the logistics of getting assistance to FMIT Members.
  • FMIT will be able to respond to Member needs once the conditions are safe to do so. This will be a massive debris creating & public safety event and most roads may be impassable for the first 24-72+ hours after the event. We will do our best to assist, but will keep the safety of local personnel as our top priority.
  • FMIT Members can assist FMIT Ride-Out teams by notifying Public Safety personnel in advance that FMIT Recovery teams may be on the ground and will need access to locations that may be safe to access, but may be restricted to the public by Public Safety procedures.
  • FMIT is staging the largest number of Ride-Out teams in the history of FMIT to Member EOCs throughout the state from South Florida up both the Western and Eastern coasts. These teams will be responding.
  • Please be patient if contacting FMIT/Synergy as our incoming call volume, requests for simpliCity and Trackdown login information and other information is increasing as the storm approaches. We will get to your requests as soon as possible.

FMIT Member Preparedness Actions:

  • Members should continue to monitor Hurricane Irma as well as FMIT Alerts and local/national weather forecasts.
  • Members should be in contact with internal Emergency Preparedness Teams in order to begin implementation of emergency preparedness measures.
  • Members should begin familiarizing themselves with installing and using the TrackDown Damage Assessment App by Clicking Here.
  • Members should ensure that they can login to simpliCity by Clicking Here.
  • If you have not yet activated your simpliCity account, Click Here. We will be activating these requests this afternoon and evening with the hope of everyone who requests access by tomorrow morning.
  • Members unable to attend yesterday’s Irma Webinar should review by Clicking Here.
  • Members should have their Mitigation teams removing all “high-risk” assets, including non-fixed structures, shades/tarps, flags, etc… to minimize damages. If you have lights installed with movable fixtures, they should be lowered to the lowest level or removed, if possible.
  • Members should have their lift stations, gate stations, and pump stations inspected to ensure they are currently free from debris as the storm is expected to cause a tremendous amount of debris damage.

Damage Reporting Options:

  • Call 844-FMIT-CAT (844-364-8228) to report any losses to your insured property and activate the FMIT Turnkey Recovery program for immediate response to any property losses you may have incurred. Also:
  • Go online: http://insurance.flcities.com and login to your account and submit your loss notice(s). FMIT and Synergy are immediately notified of your loss submittal.
