FMIT Alert Lvl 4: Tornado Watch Issued For Parts of Panhandle and North FL Through Early Afternoon 4/3/17

Tornado Watch Issued For Parts of The Panhandle and North Florida Through Early This Afternoon. Projected High Winds and Severe Storms for Panhandle, North Florida and Big Bend Areas.

FMIT Discussion

  • At 8:00 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Castleberry to near Big Point, moving east at 30 mph.
  • Damaging straight-line winds, tornadoes and large hail are all threats.
  • Strong and long-track tornadoes are possible.
  • Heavy rain and local flash flooding will also be concerns in some areas.
Still To Watch:

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are expected. Any loose or lightweight objects should be secured. Small tree limbs may be brought down. Very hazardous boating conditions will occur on the intracoastal and Atlantic waters.
