Hurricane Irma Currently A Category 5 Hurricane With Maximum Sustained Winds of 185mph. Gov. Rick Scott Declares State of Emergency For Florida. Mandatory Evacuations Issued to Begin For Monroe County Tomorrow Morning.

FMIT Discussion:

  • Florida Governor Rick Scott has declared a statewide emergency in preparation for Hurricane Irma’s increasing potential impact.
  • Monroe County has issued a mandatory evacuation beginning on Wednesday morning at 7am.
  • FMIT will be holding a Webinar (online conference) for Members tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm EST. Information about how to access the Webinar will be sent in tomorrow morning’s alert.
  • Model projections continue to show Florida in the cone of uncertainty with potential landfall in South Florida as early as Saturday. Tropical Storm-Force Winds could begin affecting south Florida as early as Friday afternoon/evening.
  • Latest model runs move the storm slightly west and south as they have been doing for past 24-36 hrs. If this trend continues and path is accurate, it might be good news for eastern portions of FL.
  • FMIT is initiating their CAT Response Procedures in Orlando and is ready to implement the TurnKey Recovery Program with Members throughout the state.
  • FMIT is currently planning for the staging of personnel and resources as we better understand the path the storm will take.
  • Please be patient if contacting FMIT/Synergy as our incoming call volume, requests for simpliCity and Trackdown login information and other information is increasing as the storm approaches. We will get to your requests as soon as possible.
